NAVIGATING THE SECOND WAVE
As you may know many areas within North America are experiencing a second wave of COVID-19. The CDC updated its travel advisory to a Level 4 – Avoid Travel to Mexico on November 21st 2020.  As of today, December 02nd, in addition to “Avoid travel to Mexico”, the CDC has introduced that any return traveller to the US from Mexico be tested for COVID19, 3-5 days after travel and isolate for 7 days.  Without a test, US travellers have been instructed to self-isolate for 10 days.  Similarly in Canada, travellers are not prohibited from travelling but are advised to avoid all non-essential travel. All Canadians are required by law to quarantine for 14 days after travel.

Although these travel warnings and advisements are not complete “travel bans” or prohibitions on travel, they are indeed serious warnings.  This will impact the travel industry for what we hope, will be a short period of time.

Being proactive for our guests and property owners alike, we are gathering information daily as events unfold and remain committed to keeping you informed as we receive information.

While this is a situation that is changing constantly and beyond our control, we are continually updating plans and strategies to manage it in the best possible manner for all.
OUR UNIQUE CIRCUMSTANCE POLICY:
From the on-set of COVID19 in North America, the majority of all travel companies, airlines, hotels, are offering deferred travel or travel credits for future use for guests impacted by COVID19. AirBNB, VRBO and other online booking agencies are offering full refunds.

What we have been doing and will continue to do on a case by case basis, will be to implement the Unique Circumstance Policy for COVID19.

What is the Unique Circumstance Policy for COVID19 and what is the process?
  • Guests submit their request for a cancellation.
  • Upon review we determine if their travel is indeed impacted by COVID19.
  • If the booking is greater than 60 days prior to arrival, they guest may cancel but they are encouraged to reselect dates for the future. 2021-2022
  • If the booking is less than 60 days prior to arrive, the guest is reminded of the 60 day cancellation policy and are offered a chance to reselect dates in 2021 or 2022.

This is not the first time the travel industry has been impacted by this sort of situation.  Companies that gained and retained customers were those that worked with their guests through these difficult types of situations. Thankfully throughout the last 6 months, our percentage of retaining or saving bookings from cancellation is still well over 80%.

PROMOTIONS TO HELP ENTICE AND INCREASE RENTAL INCOME
Stay 7 Pay 5
As per the request and suggestion of some property owners, we will extend this promotion until March 01 2021.

How does it work?
We adjust your weekly rate to reflect the price of your nightly rate multiplied by 5 nights.

Many property owners are already participating in this promotion.  If you would to join this promotion or end it on December 19th, please email customer service at customerservice@pvrpv.com.  Those owners that would like to continue, we will automatically renew your promotion until March 01 2021.

Stay the Holidays
Some property owners have indicated that their units are still not rented for Christmas – New Years – Holiday period for 2020.  With the recent CDC guidelines being announced, we know this will impact the last minute bookings we would normally get for folks wanting to get away over the holidays.  Only those that are in a position to self-isolate for 7-10 days upon returning to the US or quarantine for 14 days upon return to Canada, will be comfortable in travelling at this time.  With this limited amount of travellers, you may want to consider adjusting your rates for the Holidays. Perhaps consider offering a special weekly rates for the month of December.

If you need assistance adjusting your rates please email customer service at customerservice@pvrpv.com.
