A Word from Vallarta's Premier Vacation Rental Company, PVRPV…
August & September Newsletter

This is an awesome time of year in Puerto Vallarta. Due to the slow season and contrary to popular thought we are busy, busy, busy gearing up for a new exciting season at PVRPV. So we are sending out an August-September combined newsletter. We will resume our monthly reports in October. We hope you do not mind as our marketing minds are using the time "swanking" up the look and feel of your newsletter and website.

We are enjoying a bit of respite as we are truly entering the slow season here in Vallarta. Most of the Mexican people who have been with us for the last two months have returned to their homes in time for our schools to start this week. So for the next six weeks or so we are in deep slow season. We have many vacation homes available at rock bottom rates through November this fall so take a look at www.pvrpv.com. Many of the local businesses are closed or folks are really busy preparing their business for the High Season. But there is still lots of fun to be had in Vallarta this time of year.

Ya'll come on down now, hear!

The rains are starting and they are stupendously incredible. Just seeing them up close and personal is thrilling and an adventure on their own. We are seeing powerful images as these daily deluges sweep down from the jungle. These storms dance and play across the Bay of Banderas. The streets becomes gully washes as all the water races to the ocean. It is really wonderful fun actually.

We will let you know.

Condos, Houses and Villas-Oh My!

Casa San Antonio del Mar - Condo

Folks, booking a Christmas rental in Puerto Vallarta are really a challenge, especially at the beach. We started getting hit with requests back in March this year and nearly all beach front vacation homes are already booked. However, we still have several wonderful homes available for Christmas. For example, one of our featured properties, Casa San Antonio Del Mar is a wonderful home located high above 5 de Diciembre neighborhood near Zona Romantica, Gringo Gulch and the El Centro area. Christmas time is so wonderful here in Vallarta and this home is simply gorgeous, elegant and would make an ideal holiday rental. This spacious two bedrooms, two bathroom vacation home is stunning.

Soaring high above one of the world's finest beaches is the exquisite Casa Juanita. Upscale, completely renovated and beautifully furnished, this air conditioned one bedroom condo with all the amenities one would expect from pure luxury. Complete with kitchenette including refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker & blender.

"First Timer" or "VIP Airport Pick Up" Services

We are offering a new service at PVRPV. We have had so many requests for airport pick up service, especially for first timers to Puerto Vallarta and Mexico. We thought we would share what we are doing. Just let us know if this would be something you would enjoy.

Once you deplane you will go first to Customs and provide your documents (passport & the Tourist Visa you will be provided either on the plane or there at customs), then you proceed to baggage claim, collect your luggage and then you will head towards the exit. At the next and final station you will be told to push a button that will randomly light up green or red. If it is green you may proceed to meet our driver immediately. If it is red a customs officer will guide you to a table for a quick baggage inspection. This is a completely random process and relatively quick.

Once you clear this last step simply proceed toward the exit and look for your name on a sign with PVRPV Premier Vacation Rentals label on it with your name. The driver speaks English and will be very helpful and friendly. He will assist you to the car (please avoid the time share sales people, as they can be rather pro-active) load you up and off you go in a very nice large Suburban with air conditioning. Our driver will offer you several refreshments like a cool moist scented face cloth immediately after your long journey, as well as our own PVRPV brand of ice cold bottled water, soft drink or an even colder Mexican beer while you are whisked to your vacation home. He will explain where you are traveling on the way and point out key features. If you need to stop at the grocery store, pharmacy or anything, simply ask and he will be glad to accommodate your needs. Call us for prices and you may simply pay the driver directly. Gratuity is always welcome.

Once you arrive at the home we will personally be there, to greet you and introduce the features and amenities of the home to you and your guests. You will receive a very nice gift basket with loads of goodies. Also, if you need us to "stock" (food, drinks etc) the kitchen or refrigerator prior to your visit we will be glad to offer this concierge service in advance of your arrival. Simply, drop us an email.

We will, of course check in with you a few times during your visit to make sure all is well and then meet you when you depart for the airport.

If you need any information about tours, activities or the fun places just let us know.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. We all were first timers once, and were grateful for the guidance we received.

A Note of Thanks!

We hope your travels in Mexico were safe and many happy memories were discovered in Puerto Vallarta.  We are so pleased you chose to allow PVRPV an opportunity to assist you in finding your vacation home.  Your satisfaction and absolute sense contentment during your stay is what we are all about. It was great to meet you.

Being a young entrepreneurial company we are only as good as your word and our commitment to integrity and service.  We would be honored if you could take a moment and send a short word of testimony about your personal experience as a customer and Guest with us at PVRPV.  We post our Guest comments on our website as a statement of our commitment to excellence.  This will also stand out as an incentive for our team here at PVRPV to raise the service standard bar even higher.

We look forward to your return to Puerto Vallarta and seeing you again soon.  We would be privileged to assist you in finding another wonderful vacation home for your next time in paradise.

Here are some recent comments from recent Guests this summer:

"We were very lucky to find Tim's web site. He had just the house we wanted to rent and it was wonderful. Tim fulfilled every commitment had made including getting up on a Sunday morning at 6:00AM to see us off to the airport. He was professional and I will recommend him to anyone planning a trip to Puerto Vallarta . I will certainly look to Tim and his staff to help me plan my next trip to Puerto Vallarta"

"Tim and staff are fantastic! They saved us after a horrible experience with Orbitz as our booking agent for PV. We were literally on the street with nothing more from Orbitz than a - Oops! Here is your money back - sorry you’re in a foreign country with no place to stay! Within 5 minutes of walking into Tim's office he had helped us rent a beautiful condo which, frankly, was much superior to our other booking which left us stranded. We wouldn't think of traveling to Puerto Vallarta and booking through anyone else ever again!"

August & September's Spanish Lesson

"Show Me the Money, Honey!"

One of the issues we see often with our Guests, especially with "first timers" is learning how the money works in Mexico. Fairly simple, but a bit of explaining would be helpful.

Many folks use the easy rule of 10:1 ratio.

It is advisable to use your ATM card when in Mexico. It is not a good idea to bring a load of US cash to Mexico, then exchange it here. The exchange windows, called Casa de Cambio, can conveniently change your dollars or travelers checks into pesos. The ATMs are everywhere and easy to use and will give you the very best exchange rate for each day. You may take a maximum of $300 USD daily. Remember with the exception of the grocery store and restaurants, most prices are expected to be negotiated. You can pay the taxi or private driver in US dollars if need be. So haggle, haggle and then haggle some more.

"Hey Abuelita, What's cooking?"

Here is an awesome recipe that is enjoyed for breakfast, lunch and dinner! "Provecho!"

Chicken Enchiladas Suizas
Chicken Enchiladas Suizas

1 20 ounce can whole tomatoes
1 7 ounce can diced green chiles
1 medium onion, quartered
2 - 3 cloves garlic, peeled
1 cup sour cream salt and pepper to taste 12 corn tortillas
1/2 cup corn or canola oil
2 pounds boneless chicken breasts, cooked and cubed
4 cups Swiss, Chihuahua or Jack cheese, grated
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1 cup sour cream

In food processor, blend together tomatoes, chilies, onion, garlic and sour cream. Season to taste with salt and pepper and pour into a large saucepan. Heat thoroughly.

Heat oil in skillet until a drop of water sizzles when placed in it. Fry a tortilla lightly on both sides so it's still pliable. Using tongs, remove it from the pan. Dip it into the enchilada sauce and lay it inside a 9 x 14 pan. Stuff enchilada with chicken, cheese and onions. Roll and place seam side down in the pan. Repeat for all 12 tortillas, reserving a small amount of cheese and onions.

When all enchiladas are made, place the pan in a 350 degree oven for about twenty minutes. Remove from oven, pour remaining enchilada sauce over enchiladas until almost covered. Cover with remaining cheese and onions. Broil for two minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve immediately, topped with dollops of sour cream.

Have a great month and we will see you again the first of October. We honor your trust by not ever selling or sharing your email address with anyone and is only used to communicate our email newsletter and other information solely for PVRPV. If you wish to be removed from this list, simple send us an email indication your desire to be removed from the list.

Enjoy the day and we look forward to seeing you soon!
