Times like these call for simplicity. These are simply not the days for Beef Wellington and Baked Alaska, forks and knives. Days this hot need something reliably satisfying, something you can eat with one hand, and in a few bites. Something tried and truly delicious. Something that enters your life fully assembled, unlike absolutely anything you will ever buy at Ikea.
Look no further. Your dreams have been answered. The Dog House opened its second southside location this week at Pino Suarez 212, adjacent to the PVRPV offices. The quaint combination dine-in/take-out restaurant is open from 11am to 8pm Tuesday through Sunday. Delivery service is available.
Proprietors, Agustin Rocha and Tim Longpre, start with the best hot dogs and sausages and handle them with reverence. Whether you choose the traditional Jalisco-style hot dog — 100% beef dog wrapped in bacon, griddled until dog and bacon fuse, garnished with a kitchen sink of fresh hand-made condiments and stuffed into a Mexican bolillo roll or their piping hot faves — Italian, Chorizo, Chicken Chipotle, Bratwurst or Polish Sausages — customers will leave with a smile. Customers looking for a veggie dog that has the taste and texture of the real thing won’t be disappointed in The Dog House’s meatless offering.
