FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
“That’s the best me I’ve ever heard!” - Eartha Kitt “There is no one like him!” - Sordid Lives writer/director Del Shores Puerto Vallarta, MEXICO, February 18, 2011: After his sell-out performances in November, Mingo Mexico Productions announces the return of Mark Alan Smith, singing live at Paco’s Ranch, in a six night engagement on February 24, 25, 27 and March 2, 4 and 6 at 8pm each night.“I was so inspired by Vallarta’s warm reception for Mark in November,” says Tracy Parks, producer. “The owners and management at Paco’s Ranch helped us turn the place into a very comfortable cabaret-style theatre and now they’ve agreed to let us do it again for two weeks! We’re thrilled!” Special seating allows customers great views of the stage in comfortable, padded seats, cabaret tables (in the VIP section) and elevated “ranch style” benches. “The state of the art sound system at Paco’s Ranch proved perfect for this very unique show. It is pure magic watching Mark in this room!”
Mark’s LIVE vocal impressions (there is no lip sync in this show) of Cher, Bette Midler, Patti LaBelle, Judy Garland, Liza Manelli, Patsy Cline, Carol Channing, Louis Armstrong and many others leave his standing-room-only audiences begging for more. His stage presence and vocal range make this performer a must see!
For more than 20 years, Mark Alan Smith has traveled the US and other parts of the world selling out theatres, nightclubs and showrooms. He has performed with some of the greatest entertainers of our time including the legendary Eartha Kitt, Tiffany, The Weather Girls, Martha Wash, Thelma Houston and Sir Elton John, to name a few. A documentary about Mark, From a Jack to a Queen, directed by Erik Hayes, ran in short film festivals in 2003, winning an “Audience Favorite Award”.
Performances will be at the all-new Paco’s Ranch (Ignacio L. Vallarta 237 next to Club Roxy) in Vallarta’s old town/southside on February 24, 25 and 27, 2011 and March 2, 4 and 6 at 8pm each night. Tickets for VIP seating (first 3 rows) are 200 pesos. General admission/reserved seating tickets are 150 pesos. Groups of 6 or more qualify for discounted seating.
Tickets may be purchased at Bar Frida, Hotel Mercurio, VES Offices and online at www.mingomexico.com.
Mark’s show is best suited for adults and contains adult humor. The solo performance is approx 90 minutes with no intermission. Cocktail service is available before and during the show. Doors open by 7:30pm. Showtime is 8pm. For more information visit www.MingoMexico.com or call (322)168 9950.

BINGO AT NACHO DADDY SUPPORTS PASITOS DE LUZ!!! Week 9 – And what a night!!!
Written by Judith St. Gaudens Author of Lilacs For CarrieOne hundred wonderful, fun-loving folks showed up at Nacho Daddy last night, raising a total of $13,730 pesos for this deserving cause. So far, a total of $146,944.60 pesos has been raised toward the goal of $200,000. I think we will make it, and then some. Word must be getting out because there were many new faces in the crowd as well as many repeat players. Canadians, Americans, Mexicans and one Dane made it a special evening. Juan Carlos called the letters and numbers and was spot on as usual. What a great guy to donate his time for this event every other Tuesday. He is witty, creative and very entertaining. Thank you, Juan Carlos!
Tim Longpre was present, as usual, manning the second mike and verifying the many “BINGOS”, called during the evening. Oh, except for the unverifiable bingos called into Nacho Daddy from passers-by. They had the real players going a couple of times until we figured it out. I was pleased to meet Tim’s father. He and Tim’s mother had a great time, though Tim’s dad did not play. That was fine. He entertained my table at half time with tales of his barbershop quartet hobby. He is the lead singer, you know. That was fun because my dad sang lead in a barbershop quartet, too. What are the odds? Our evenings are delightful that way. One can meet people from all parts of the world and from all walks of life. Carol of Xocodiva did her excellent routine selling the 50-50 raffle tickets. Barbara Peterson was the lucky winner of the drawing. Congratulations, Barbara.
One of the amazing highlights of the evening was when a very lucky Canadian from Vancouver, Peter Godfrey, won both raffles, as there were two prizes. The first was a beautiful basket of chocolate and chocolate products donated by Xocodiva. Peter graciously re-donated it to Yolanda of Pasitos de Luz to share with her staff. What a lovely gesture. Thank you, Peter. Next, Peter won a gift certificate to Casa del Angel, a picturesque bed and breakfast over-looking the beautiful Banderas Bay and the city of Puerto Vallarta. Peter opted to hang on to this great prize. Congratulations Peter. Oh, it must be mentioned that Peter was also one of the three winners of Game #7. Did I mention that Peter is one lucky Canadian? Wow.

The next Bingo night at Nacho Daddy will be February 22. Hope to see you all there. Bring your friends, too. And, please remember the Pasitos de Luz wish list http://www.pvrpv.com/blog/pasitos-de-luz-wish-list/. This is an extremely worthy cause. Bring something on the list and receive a free bingo card. Bring someone new and get a free bingo card. Doesn’t get any better than that. Come on down!!
