A must see this season is Los Bambinos’ Santa Barbara Theater Concert. They have always been good, but this year their voices have matured, their stage presence turned awesome and their songs, old favorites in English and Spanish as well original tunes written by the boys themselves, fantastic. This group of street singers have turned into a tight group of stage professionals. Call 223-2048 or stop by the Santa Barbara Theater at Olas Altas 351 for your tickets for one of the Monday night concerts that starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are the same price as last year, $220 pesos. The holiday season is off to a festive start in Puerto Vallarta. The processions celebrating the Virgin Guadalupe began on Dec. 1 and will continue until Dec. 12, which is her birthday. Songs to honor her and thank the Virgin Guadalupe will be sung. It is highly regarded that the Virgin Guadalupe protects Vallarta’s community and well being. I sat with some of the other PVRPV staff members today (thanks Josh and Armando) to get a better understanding of this yearly ritual. The parades we have seen thus far, including the one last night by Los Arcos Hotel, were very impressive. What a great time to be in Vallarta!

Everyone is expected to pay homage to the Virgin of Guadalupe, Puerto Vallarta’s revered patron saint. On the eve of the December 12th, the last procession congregates at the Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort and begins its journey towards the Cathedral. Once the procession reaches its destination, a special mass in devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe is celebrated.
PVRPV staff members get in the spirit this week also. A tree decorating party helped to get things rolling. We will all enjoy a Posada on Saturday, Dec. 6 as owner Tim Lonpre treats the staff to a sunset cruise.
